About Mad Goats
Mad Goats was started over 9 years ago by being the first to start guiding tours down the Akerselva River. We have been teaching the 3hr våttkort kajakkurs (beginnner kayak course) during this time, and have been given out 1000s of våttkort cards, contributing to safer paddling practices in Norway. Tomas Hansson (Mad Goats Founder) started out (age 23) using his beat up old kayaking van, and storing his few sea kayaks in his girlfriends at the time grandfathers garage. Since he could not afford to buy kayaks for the Akerselva Kayak Tour, he had to borrow/rent kayaks from the Oslo Elvesportsklubb. Since then Mad Goats has become Oslos largest commercial kayaking and stand up paddling activity provider, also offers floating sauna experiences on the Oslofjord and even own the old Kajakksenter in Heidal, where we run our whitewater kayaking tours and courses. It has sure been a ride, especially having to navigate inner city Oslo waterfront politics – which is never easy! Either way, Mad Goats is still here, stronger than ever, because goats never give up and they never surrender – that is #GOATLIFE. With that, we hope to show you can amazing time on the water soon.
