Floating Sauna Experiences in Tjuvholmen, Central Oslo

Mad offers both public and private floating sauna sessions in central Oslo on the wonderful Oslofjord. We are Oslo’s first and only *alcohol-free floating saunas, as we pride ourselves as a company that is truly committed to health, relaxation and wellness – we do sell Kombucha and Coconut water in the reception, but encourage you to bring your own water bottle, that you can fill up from our water containers. Our saunas are self-service for a small part of the day, during the mid-morning to mid-afternoon (0800 – 1400), meaning that you are responsible to light the saunas at these times (however, soon we will become Oslo’s first fully electric floating saunas), and to keep them hot by adding wood. Please remember to take away all your rubbish, and to lock the sauna after you are done, if you are the last to leave. Tjuvholmen, not only has the cleanest swimming water (helped by the fact we have planted a seaweed forest underneath our saunas together with Fjord CleanUP) in central Oslo and the best views out to the fjord, it is also a very safe waterfront district, and is not as crowded as other central waterside areas in Oslo. This creates an quieter, safer, and more relaxing sauna and swimming experience on the Oslofjord.

Note: our saunas are staffed from 6:45 – 9:00 in the morning, and from 14 – 21 (9pm) in the evening. Outside of these times, the saunas are not staffed but there is always fresh water, wood, and you will receive the codes to open and lock the saunas in your booking confirmation email. It is also important that you swim within the yellow buoys for your own safety and do not swim out past this swimming barrier, as we are beside a marina where there are a lot of boats. Stay safe, look out for one another, and have a great time at our floating saunas!
