We understand that some gyms have saunas, but after experiencing sauna life on Oslofjord it is hard to go back to those damp and dark dungeons, surrounded by of concrete. Instead, relax in a floating sauna, while looking out onto the beautiful Oslo Fjord. Listen to the sigh of the wind, and the sounds of the waves. Sit back, unwind, and let the stress of modern city life fade away. Meet kind and happy people that share your interests, and that you can have interesting conversations with in the sauna. Enjoy the energising health benefits that regular sauna and ice bathing provides. Sauna life turns a cold, dark and long winter into a happy, fun and invigorating adventure!

Why Get A Sauna Membership?

Regular sauna use adds to an amazing lifestyle, and is why having a sauna membership is a genius idea. Using the sauna is not just about the health benefits, but also the whole experience: community, health and nature. Fjord saunas offer a way to slow down and enjoy the natural world in the middle of city. Not many places in world are connected to nature like Oslo is, from the surrounding forests, the fjords and rivers. We are damn lucky to live in this amazing place, so lets make the most of it! No matter rain or shine, the sauna will always bring you joy and a break from hustle culture – much needed in this day and age!

Health Benefits from Regular Sauna Use

Studies clearly show that taking a sauna  4x a week gives you the maximum health benefits – a whooping 40% reduction in all cause mortality. What that means is a 40% reduction in everything that can kill you! I mean the point of life is to stay alive, right? – so jump in that sauna! From this perspective, a sauna membership is a very worthwhile investment. In our opinion, regular sauna use  should be an integral pillar in ones health and longevity regimen.  500NOK for a 40% reduction in all cause mortality, I mean that is a bargain, mate!

About our Floating Saunas in Oslo and Moss

Our floating saunas are located in Tjuvholmen, Oslo. Saunas are open 7-days a week If you want to book a private or public sauna session in Oslo, click here.

Heating

We light the sauna oven every morning to make sure our saunas are warm for our early morning visitors by 0730, and again by 1500. Outside of these times, ours saunas are completely self-service, so you will be required to light the sauna oven yourself and make sure to keep them hot by feeding the fire with wood. We provide all the fire lighting equipment, that can be found inside the sauna – it is very easy! Please keep the place tidy like you found it.

Water

During the summer months between May – September, we have access to running water at our saunas in Oslo which means we can provide showers. During the winter months, we have no access to running water due to the pipes freezing. During the winter months we still provide drinking water in plastic containers, which we fill up every day – you will find them outside. We are always working on getting better facilities but this depends on the willingness of the land owners. Make sure to always bring enough water to drink and extra water if you want to put water on the sauna stones. Our sauna location is close by to a supermarket, so you can go buy water if need be. Of course for environmental reason, we prefer that you bring reusable and refillable bottles.

Changing and swimwear

We ask that you bring two towels, one to sit on and one to dry with and that you wear swimwear in our saunas. There are changing facilities at our saunas but there is not a lot of room so if you are a big group we recommend some of you get changed outside. There is space to store your belongings either inside the sauna, on the hooks outside or in the boxes outside. We hope you are now fired up to get a sauna membership in Oslo, and we look forward to meeting you in the sauna soon! Maaeeeh!
