Våttkort Kayak Courses in Oslo
Mad Goats teaches both the 3hr Introduction Sea Kayaking Våttkort Course (Introkurs Hav) and the 2-day Basic Sea Kayaking Våttkort Course (Grunnkurs Hav). These are both beginner-level kayak courses, suitable for complete beginners or kayakers wanting to refresh their basic paddling skills.
We run our courses from Mad Goats Bjørvika in central Oslo, behind the new Munch Museum in the Bispevika bay, and Mad Goats Lysaker from the beautiful Sollerudstranda beach. Both our kayak locations have secure storage for all your belongings, are easy to get to by public transport and have parking nearby. Our våttkort kayak courses are taught by highly skilled, professional and certified kayaking instructors, all who have completed their Norwegian Paddle Federation Instructor Qualifications.
On our våttkort courses we provide all the necessary kayak equipment to keep you warm and safe. Our courses are taught in sheltered areas of the Oslofjord, making the conditions suitable for beginners. We tailor each lesson to both the group and individual, so you feel safe, while still allowing the group to push themselves as far as they feel comfortable. For example, we might teach some students the kayak roll, if they show great enthusiasm, while for others it might be enough just to tip over and exit the kayak. You decide your pace of learning; attendance to the course is the most important thing!
All our våttkort courses are suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Mad Goats also offers generous discounts for students and youth from 25 – 35%. We can run both the 3hr Introkurs Hav and 2-day Grunnkurs Hav, as private events for team building groups or any type of event. Once you complete your våttkort course with us you will be able to rent kayaks from any of our 3 rental locations in Oslo, and take your friends and family out kayaking on the wonderful Oslofjord. “Catch you on the water!”
Våttkort Kayak & Packraft Courses in Sjoa
Mad Goats runs whitewater kayaking and packrafting våttkort courses and tours at our base in Sjoa, Norway. At our kayak base, we have camping and hammock overnight options, toilet and kitchen facilities, and access to electricity. We also have a sauna, hot tub, and access to the Sjoa River for a refreshing swim.
Our group sizes are small, giving you a personalised learning or guided experience on the river: 6 students to 1 instructor on whitewater kayaking and packrafting tours and courses. We can facilitate private groups of up to 20 people if you are planning an exciting adventure for team building or any type of event, or celebration. Our paddling adventures take place on the 3 main rivers in the area: The Sjoa, Otta and Lågen. These rivers are world famous whitewater kayaking and packrafting playgrounds, with people travelling from all over the world to experience fun, excitement and pristine Norwegian nature.
If you want to stay in a cabin or hotel, we can recommend staying at either Gorafting, which is only 300m from our paddle base, or at the Heidal Gjestgiveri, which is 1km away. While you are visisting the Heidal Valley, we can recommend going on a hike, getting a famous waffle from the Heidal Ysteri, or going whitewater rafting. There is also a horse riding tour operator in the Heidal Valley if you are up for the adventure!
